Conception and Ovulation

Google

Even though the bulk of this site is dedicated to those of you already with a baby, we felt it was important to include those of you who are still trying for a baby.

After all, passing this step will lead to the rest.

In order to assist the conception of your next child, I’ll first outline a basic requirement for a greater success rate. This centres around your overall health, and wellbeing.

It is imperative that you invest the time to concentrate on looking after yourself.

I don’t mean to sound like a preacher, but this point will become clearer as you read on.

Your Overall Health

Introduction

Many people find they conceive children, almost unconsciously. By this, I mean that whilst people know they are making love, they may not be thinking about it specifically for the purpose of a baby.

However, there can be a great deal of benefit in learning about natural fertility methods, as this can be very empowering, and also give you a greater degree of management over contraception later after the birth of your child.

Many women find they are more spiritual, and emotionally content, after practicing the methods we’ll discuss.

Issues to be gained from practicing natural fertility methods methods

By gaining an understanding of natural fertility management, you will better understand the timing of your mid cycle, and understand the reasons for reading and monitoring your basal temperature. I also hope to explain the bio rhythmic lunar cycle

Most importantly too, I’ll explain the different ways you can better relax, and optimize your general health, which will also allow your body to, generally, conceive more easily and remain more vital, healthy, and strong.

It should be noted that it may take a short while (a few weeks to a few months), depending on your personal circumstances, to find these methods begin to work.

You need to firstly be detoxified, as just living in a modern city these days can cause extra stress on our bodies through all the pollution, and food additives that our bodies may be taking in.

At the end of the day, when your body id healthy and strong, you are more easily able to become pregnant as you’ll essentially be more inclined to fertility.

Ovulation

To best describe ovulation, this is the time in the female cycle where an egg is released from one of the ovaries, and begins to travel down the fallopian tubes.

In the event, at this point, that the egg is fertilized by sperm, a new baby begins to form.

There are many chemical reactions that need to take place in the body at this point, and this includes the release of hormones, and this will generally occur about two weeks before the menstrual period starts.

Many women find that their basal temperature will rise slightly and they will have a change in their cervical mucus consistency.

This is the time that they are most likely to conceive, if all other factors come into play at the same time. These include the sperm meeting the egg.

Different women will experience some or all of the symptoms below:

Regular menstrual cycle

Some women experience abdominal pain, in varying degrees during ovulation.

Some women may notice a thicker mucus discharge. Some women may feel more moody, or bloated and may experience breast tenderness.

Some women will notice about a 0.5 degree rise in their basal temperature, which will suggest that ovulation has just taken place.

Several parts of the body and chemical reactions need to take place at the right time to have ovulation occur.

They include the hypothalamus and pituitary glands releasing chemicals to set the ovaries to release oestrogen and progesterone hormones.

Explanation of the menstrual Cycle

The menstruation cycle begins when the uterine lining begins to shed. This is the blood show you see during this period.

The pituitary gland releases follicle stimulating hormone, which causes the ovaries to produce follicles.

The follicle matures around the tenth day, at which point the uterine l inning begins to thicken.

This I the endometrium preparing for the fertilized ovum.

As the follicle continues to mature, greater amounts of oestrogen are released

The hypothalamous then creates another chemical, reffered to as GnRH, which causes the pituatary to produce LH. High levels of luteinising hormone will cause ovulation to occur within approximately two days time.

The ovum is then moved down the fallopian tube into the uterus. It is within 24 hours of this process occurring that the ovum must meet a viable sperm. If this does not occur, the ovum will then die.

The follicle then releases the progesterone hormone. It is necessary for the fertilized ovum to implant in the uterus. If this does not occur, the uterus would be unable to maintain its lining, and hence, a menstrual period would again begin.

However, when the egg is fertilized, and implanted in the uterus, menstruation will then stop, until after the baby is born, and the mother is no longer breastfeeding.

I realize this all may seem a little complicated, but I chose to include it to help you understand the mechanics of the body a little better.

By so doing, it will make the understanding of the various testing kits that are available a little easier.

There is a considerable amount of information on the early pregnancy site on fertility and ovulation measurements.

I encourage you to look at the above website, as there are a great number of products to help you follow your fertility, as well as products to help you be more likely to become pregnant.

Ways to Increase Your Likelyhood of Ovulation

I realize again, this may be a sensitive subject for some women, but it is important to watch your weight.

This applies to both over and underweight women.

Please understand I am not referring to you having a fashion magazine style body, but rather, to focus on eating healthily, and exercising moderately to help stimulate your blood flow, and maintain the best possible health possible.

Please note I have mentioned to exercise moderately. It has been proven that women who over exercise can actually not always menstruate regularly.

It is also important to minimize your stress levels, as this can markedly affect your ability to ovulate.

May I recommend a regular walk, some relaxing music, yoga, or other form of relaxation.

There are a number of ideas on ways to positively relax at the Positive Relaxation website, which include links to yoga, tai chi, zen, music relaxation, inner mind work, and many others.

It is also important to eat properly- that is food that is wholesome, and preferably cooked at home.

The odd take away meal is fine, but the more effort we put into being healthy in the first place, the more likely we are to healthily be able to fall pregnant.

If you are concerned, it is always wise to consult with your doctor, chemist (or drug store proprietor), or your local medical centre.

As I have also mentioned earlier, there are also numerous ovulation test kits available, and basal temperature thermometers.

These products are available here for your fertlity and ovulation testing.
