Dads- How to Make or Assist Your Pregnant Partner to be Happier!

Google

Introduction to Understanding Your Pregnant Partner

It’s important for the Dads to remember that being pregnant can take its toll on your partner’s body and emotions.

It is natural for the baby to take all the nutrients that it needs from its mother, and it’s common for mums to feel tired, and sometimes uncomfortable, as the pregnancy progresses.

Your partner is experiencing many changes in her body, as well as the shear discomforts of a changing hormonal balance too.

All these issues are normal, but understanding them, and more so, the way that you can contribute to a more comfortable, and meaningful experience for the two of you is a very special and beneficial skill.

Your Relationship as a Couple

Your relationship is naturally going to be affected by the pregnancy, and that can be made into a very positive experience for both of you.

It is natural for you to possibly be anxious, in terms of your self confidence to support your partner, through the pregnancy, and during the birth.

I always like to remind you that it is normal to feel this way, but with a little introspective thought and guidance, great results can come of this situation.

What do I mean by this?

Well, you can be supportive in many different ways, during the pregnancy.

Supporting Your Partner

Making time to talk, and be there for your partner is very important.

This can be through taking care of the dinner for an evening, and taking on all the housework for the one day every weekend.

These are just examples, and each of you as a couple is different.

However, understanding the need for reassurance of love, and understanding, things like flowers can make a massive difference to your partner’s mood.

Flowers can be ordered online, by going to web sites like Roses Only Roses Only.

Another example, (also much cheaper) is massage.

Massage

This can be a very special experience for both of you, where your partner can massage the aches, the pains, the cramps, the swelling, and just generally rejuvenate you. An added bonus of this is that you will naturally feel your relationship deepens as a couple too.

The massage an be done to help both of you relax, as when one partner is feeling well, this can dramatically and positively affect the other partner too.

To explain a little further, massage helps the body to feel more relaxed, as it significantly aids the circulation, which in turn can improve blood pressure, and help to relieve waste more affectively.

Massage can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes mom is experiencing

Of course, there are many emotional benefits of a massage besides just the physical benefits. When you put your hands on your partner's body, you're also touching her emotions and state of mind. Not only is a massage relaxing, comforting and healing, it is also an expression of love and caring.

In addition to this, going for quiet walk together, can be very stress relieving and deepening for your relationship.

There are many different ways you can help each other, but as this is primarily for the Dads, supporting your pregnant partner can be very rewarding for both of you.

Summary

It is important for Dads to be as patient, and understanding as possible.

I fully appreciate that the experience of pregnancy for the father can be stressful for him too- this is quite normal. This is particularly applicable if the Dad is a first time father.

I have included a link to a site on relaxation, as this can be beneficial to both parents as well.

Click here for more examples on relaxation in a positive environment. There are many ways a Dad can assist his partner.
